Experimental unit

The Agrostological Field is the experimental unit of the Agronomic Engineering programme at UEMG Divinópolis, and it is where much of what this site reports actually happens: species are planted, individually labelled, and measured through the year.

“The agrostological field of the Agronomic Engineering programme holds a range of forage species for teaching and research.”

What is there

Forage species bank

Species kept alive in the field, available for practical classes and for experimental sampling. An extension activity carried out in 2025.

Botanical collection

The herbarium counterpart of the living bank, assembled by 4 students with PROINPE support in 2025.

Soil and canopy

Auger soil sampling plus canopy and morphogenesis readings, recorded in the GNAFOR Field Collector.

Open to visitors

The field hosted a guided visit during the 23rd National Museums Week. Schools, classes or farmer groups wanting to visit are welcome to write.

Experimental unit. The sign says it and it bears repeating: no material leaves the field without authorisation. Every plant there is either a data point in a running experiment or teaching material — one extra cut in the wrong place erases a year of data.
